  • Manager, Marketing and Activations

    Job Summary

    The Manager, Marketing and Activations, is a unique role focused on developing memorable fan experiences at Ottawa Black Bears games and events in the Ottawa region. Key responsibilities include conceptualizing, supporting and executing game themes, marketing initiatives, development camps and giveaways.

    The successful candidate will have a can-do attitude with a passion to create meaningful memories for fans of the Ottawa Black Bears and guests at Canadian Tire Centre. This role requires attendants at all home game days and events outside standard business hours.

    Main Responsibilities

    Activations Responsibilities

    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive calendar of events for all Ottawa Black Bears home games, fan events and youth development clinics.
    • Conceptualize, plan and execute all major fan activations including events such as autograph sessions and Meet the Team events.
    • Develop work-back schedules, identifying key milestones and deliverables within projects.
    • Lead development and execution of unique game themes to entertain a diverse fanbase.
    • Exhibit flexibility and a team-first mentality, stepping in to support wherever needed.

    Marketing Responsibilities

    • Develop and execute advertising plans for all Ottawa Black Bears initiatives (games, ticket drives, postseason, etc.) with media outlets (radio, television, digital OOH).
    • Manage fan email communications, including monthly newsletters, game day emails and Season Seat Member communications.
    • Source and secure unique giveaway and promotional inventory.
    • Develop event information collateral for internal distribution.
    • Effectively manage budgets and adhere to production timelines.
    • Submit detailed creative briefs with appropriate specs and information to creative department and key stakeholders within appropriate timelines.
    • Support on unique, high-impact marketing initiatives aimed at growing the Ottawa Black Bears fanbase.

    Qualifications

    • University or college sports marketing graduate, or related field, game day experience considered an asset.
    • Minimum 3-5 years experience in a similar marketing and/or event position or equivalent position and experience.
    • Excellent time management skills with ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
    • Ability to remain flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills, maintaining a team mentality.
    • Excellent attention to detail.
    • Passionate about the sports and/or entertainment industry.
    • Bilingual (English & French) is a strong asset.

  • Account Manager, Group Sales

    Job Summary

    The Group Ticket Sales Representative is a crucial member of the sales team, dedicated to driving ticket revenue through personalized outreach and relationship-building.

    This role focuses on promoting group ticket packages to organizations, schools, associations, and community groups, fostering meaningful connections with fans and offering unforgettable experiences at Ottawa Black Bears games and events.

    The ideal candidate is motivated, results-driven professional with strong interpersonal skills and a passion for providing exceptional customer service. This position requires a proactive approach to selling and includes game day responsibilities to ensure group clients have an outstanding experience.

    Main Responsibilities

    • Identify and prospect new group ticket clients, including corporate organizations, schools, community groups and associations.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with group leaders, acting as their dedicated point of contact for all ticketing needs.
    • Develop customized group ticket packages and promotions that align with client interests and organizational objectives.
    • Actively sell group tickets through outbound calls, in-person meetings, and networking opportunities.
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to create tailored campaigns and promotional materials to drive group sales.
    • Meet or exceed individual and team sales targets, providing regular updates and sales forecasts to management.
    • Assist in planning and executing group-specific experiences, such as on-field events, pre-game activities, or post-game meet-and-greets.
    • Attend all home games and group events, ensuring clients have a seamless and enjoyable experience.
    • Manage and track sales activities and client information in CRM software, maintaining up-to-date and accurate records.
    • Stay informed about ticketing trends and industry best practices to continually enhance sales efforts as well as sell season tickets, with support to suites and corporate advertising.

    Qualifications

    • Bilingual (English & French) is preferred.
    • Goal-oriented mindset, with a demonstrated ability to meet and aim to exceed sales targets.
    • Previous experience in a ticket sales position is an asset, preferably in the sports and entertainment field.
    • Previous customer service experience is an asset.
    • Experience with Salesforce or CRM platform is an asset.
    • Valid driver’s license and access to own transportation.
    • Willing and available to work weekends, holidays and evenings as required.
    • Previous customer service experience.
    • Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
    • Strong organization and communication skills.
    • Team player.

    What you’ll do

    • Game set up at various locations within the venue, including sales table, changing spaces and event collateral
    • Greeting assigned group(s) upon entry; providing exceptional service for their activation
    • Escorting assigned group(s) to activation location at appropriate time in-game
    • Ensure group(s) are cleared from activation space within a reasonable time
    • Assisting in customer inquiries and fan questions
    • Bring a positive, upbeat and can-do attitude, reflecting the Ottawa Black Bears organizational values
