Entering his third season, McConvey was the first overall pick of the 2022 NLL Entry Draft. In two seasons with Rochester, he’s already found himself top five in franchise goals and power-play goals and top ten in franchise assists and points.
A member of the 2024 NLL All-Rookie team, McConvey finished his first pro season ranked third among NLL Rookies in goals (28), points (52), and shots (169). His best performance as a rookie came in March against Panther City when he scored his first career sock-trick after a six-goal and one-assist night that earned him Rookie of the Week honors. Last season, he set a career high in points after notching four goals and six assists for a ten-point night against the Halifax Thunderbirds.
Before getting drafted to the NLL, McConvey played five years of college lacrosse and three seasons of Junior ‘A’ ball. He spent his first four years in the NCAA at the University of Vermont, where he now holds the school record for goals scored in a single season (60). In 2022, he was named ECAC Player of the Year and helped lead his Catamounts to an NCAA Tournament birth. With an extra year of eligibility thanks to the 2020 season, McConvey took his talents to Charlottesville, Virginia, and became a Cavalier in 2023. In his one season with Lars Tiffany and the University of Virginia, he earned the Lt. Donald MacLaughlin Jr. Award as the nation’s top midfielder and was named a USILA First Team All-American.
As a Mimico Mountaineer from 2017-19, McConvey tallied 188 points in 60 games. In 2019, he led the Ontario Junior ‘A’ Lacrosse League in goals (48) and points (105) and was named the OJALL MVP.
He was drafted 8th overall by the Philadelphia Waterdogs of the Premier Lacrosse League in 2023.
